The Truth You Don't Admit ~ Gotcha!

Some "Old Hippie" observations are funny, some are sad, some are perplexing, and some are the simple truth you DON'T want to admit. Here are a few from this Old Hippie ~ ha-ha-ha...

There is nowhere left to go! For tens of thousands of years, people in the minority, those persecuted and those who just didn't like the way things were left. They went somewhere else. They were the fuel of human expansion. They spread to all corners of the globe. No more! There is nowhere on Earth left to go, except up and out. I think that this is one reason there is so much war and conflict in the world today. People can't get away, so they fight. If we want to get away, the only choice for us is "Space". Are you ready for that, ready to spend the money it will take, ready for such a drastic move?

Women's groups have long accused men of being interested in only one thing, SEX! If you listen to them, they are pure of heart and mind, the only possible salvation for mankind. But, if women aren't interested in sex, why do they spend a BILLION dollars a year on diet products? Why do they want a new wardrobe every year? Why do they spend hundreds of millions on makeup and hair color? Why do they all wear bikinis when so many of them don't look good in them? Sounds like one of those statements made by politicians, you know, "Two cars in every driveway and a chicken in every pot.", and we all know that you can't believe a politician.

Money can not buy you happiness. We have been told this crap for forever. Sounds to me like some trite saying created by rich people to keep the poor pacified. If money isn't able to buy you happiness, you are just one of those people with mental problems, sorry. If your money doesn't bring you happiness, give it to me! I'd love to accept your burden of money. See what a kind and generous person I am?

You DON'T need a new car every year or two! Today's cars last longer than ever before, so you don't need a new one. The truth is that you WANT one. Admit it, you have bought into the marketing hype that has infected mankind! Think about it, you spend $500 a month for your car payment, that's $6k a year, and you do it for 50 years! That is $300k! Any way you cut that, you bought a really expensive car.

Everyone eats Fast Food! Admit it, you eat fast food, that guy over there eats fast food, and I eat fast food. And we all know how BAD it is for us. It makes us fat, it causes heart problems, and it is so much easier when you don't have to clean the kitchen after a meal! Sure, we all know how bad it is for us, but it tastes good and we are basically a very lazy species.
